Score a Book! Published on 8/21/2018

‘You can score anywhere’. With this approach the Eredivisie CV and several libraries across the Netherlands team up for a unique CSR project for children in the 5th en 6th grade of the primary school. More than 60.000 children will participate in the 2019 edition of the ‘Scoor een Boek!’ (Score a Book!) project.

‘Score a Book’ started more than seven years ago to motivate children to read more books. In 2012, FC Groningen was the first professional football club who started with ‘Score a Book, followed by thirteen clubs in the past year. Among those teams is reigning champions PSV Eindhoven.

During the Score a Book project several Eredivisie players will contribute to the project.  Last year, Heracles Almelo-defender Robin Pröpper kicked off the project at a primary school in Almelo.

We are very happy with the collaboration between The Dutch Libraries and the Eredivisie CV, we notice that the power and energy of football stimulate kids to read more often, with noticable more joy’’says Astrid Kroon, project leader of Score a Book at the Dutch Library.
