ADO Den Haag makes dreams come true for Kimberley (13) with G-Storks Published on 12/3/2019

Kimberley (13) is completely crazy about ADO Den Haag. She prefers to go to school every day in the shirt of her favorite club. ADO Den Haag makes it possible with G-Storks that Kimberley can play for ADO Den Haag despite her intellectual disability.

Kimberley's room is full of ADO Den Haag posters and she dreams of playing in a women's team, with ADO Den Haag of course. Just like Kimberley, her parents have intellectual disabilities, which makes it difficult for her to play football at an sports club. Gym teacher Remco knows Kimberley's home situation all too well and knows that Kimberley will have few opportunities. That is why he has given up Kimberley for G-Storks, a football team for people with intellectual disabilities.

ADO Den Haag believes that everyone deserves the opportunity to realize their dream. To give players with a disability the opportunity to play football at a professional club, ADO Den Haag started its own football team for people with intellectual dissabilities in 2017. With this team, they want to promote G-football in the Hague region and make dreams like those of Kimberley come true. Kimberley and her teammates can participate in various competitions and tournaments on behalf of the club for a year. In addition, just like the real pros, they are offered a contract from the club and they have lunch together with the selection.

Kimberley recently received a visit from her hero Aaron Meijers, who in turn was very proud that his club ADO Den Haag is committed to children like Kimberley. The video that was made of this meeting is part of a 25-part video series in which weekly attention is paid to the impact that eredivisie clubs have on the society. ADO Den Haag is the fourth club to be featured. View the earlier videos of PSV (Amputation Football) Willem II (Football Memories) and PEC Zwolle (PEC kicks ASS) here.

The video series is an initiative of the Eredivisie CV, FOX Sports and VriendenLoterij, social partner of the Eredivisie
