Eredivisie clubs reach agreement on TV money distribution Published on 6/4/2020

The 18 Eredivisie clubs, the Netherlands’ top football division, have reached an agreement on the distribution of the media-rights fees for the 2019-20 season.

Domestic broadcast money in the Netherlands is distributed based on league placement over the course of the past ten seasons, with the most recent carrying the most weight. However, with the early curtailment of the 2019-20 campaign, there was some debate over how the funds should be divided.

In the end, the clubs unanimously agreed that the final standings would be included in the calculation, following the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) with the distribution of the European tickets.

Jan de Jong interim CEO

The Eredivisie is also pleased to announce that Jan de Jong has been officially appointed as CEO of the Eredivisie. John Jaakke, chairman of the Eredivisie CV: “Given the situation in professional football, it is of great importance that we maintain continuity within the Eredivisie CV’s policy and operations. We are facing great challenges and clubs and other stakeholders must be able to count on the Eredivisie CV. With Jan de Jong we signed an experienced CEO that is very familiar with the world of media and professional football. The interim period runs for one year, starting on June 1st.”
