Luuk de Jong scores injury time winner as PSV beat Zwolle Published on 8/28/2018

PEC Zwolle had a glorious chance to take the lead from the penalty spot after only a minute of their clash at home to defending Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven on Saturday after PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet brought down Mike van Duinen.

However, Zoet redeemed himself by pushing van Duinen's spot-kick to safety. After the opening scare, PSV dominated but chances came and went. Five minutes before the break the opening goal finally came through Luuk de Jong who headed in Hirving Lozano's cross to register his first of the season.

PEC Zwolle came out in the second half with more purpose and they equalised two minutes after the break. Vito van Crooy was allowed to move forward unchallenged and he rifled a brilliant strike past Zoet from outside the penalty area.

The equaliser gave PEC Zwolle confidence and they drove PSV back and created several chances with Younes Namli hitting the crossbar midway through the half.

PSV looked tired but in stoppage time they came up with the winning goal. Substitute Donyell Malen sent in a perfect cross for De Jong to net from close range.

The victory means nine points from nine for new coach Mark van Bommel, and PSV now host BATE Borisov on Wednesday looking to seal their UEFA Champions League group stage spot - they lead 3-2 after the first leg in Belarus.
