Ajax defeated PEC Zwolle 4-1 on the road on Saturday to keep the gap between them and Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven to just two points.
Erik ten Hag's team broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute thanks to Klaas-Jan Huntelaar's tap-in from Dusan Tadic's assist.
The Amsterdam side doubled their lead nine minutes later, with Frenkie de Jong's curled shot from just outside the box giving home goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart no chance.
Just before the break, Zwolle pulled a goal back after Zian Flemming found the net with a header following a corner.
However, in the second half Ajax pulled away. Lasse Schone made it 3-1 in the 69th minute with a fine volley.
Then in the dying moments Dusan Tadic took advantage of Kingsley Ehizibue's poor back-pass to beat van der Hart with a lob.
